Omera Automates Payroll for 1,500 Workers in 3 Factories with Tipsoi’s Biometric System

biometric attendance and payroll management system

Omera is a leading conglomerate in Bangladesh’s petroleum gas and lubrication industries, encompassing Omera Petroleum Limited (OPL) and Omera Cylinders Limited (OCL). OPL imports, bottles, and distributes LPG for household, industrial, and automotive use, while OCL manufactures steel LPG cylinders. The company also provides bulk LPG installation solutions and offers lubricants under brands like Omera Lube 1 and Omera-PLEX XHP 2. With multiple factories and a large workforce, Omera needed a reliable biometric attendance and payroll management system to efficiently handle employee attendance and payroll across its operations.

Challenges Faced

Challenges in Managing Multiple Factories

Omera aimed to monitor employee attendance across three factories from a central location. They needed a biometric attendance and payroll management system that could handle both permanent and contractual efficiently.

Manual Attendance Led to Inaccuracies

Contractual employees were paid daily or hourly based on manual logs. Often, supervisors would note arrival times inaccurately—for instance, an employee arriving at 9:30 AM might be recorded as 9:00 AM—leading to mismatches in payroll and operational inefficiencies.

Lack of Centralized Oversight

Without a centralized monitoring system, it was difficult to consolidate attendance data, track working hours, and ensure smooth payroll management. This fragmented approach increased human errors, slowed down decision-making, and complicated HR operations.

Our Solution

Implementing Advanced Biometric Devices

To address the inaccuracies and inefficiencies, Omera deployed Tipsoi’s Fastface biometric devices across all three factories. High-traffic areas received Fastface Pro FP devices, ensuring rapid and precise recognition, while areas with fewer employees were equipped with Fastface Lite devices. This setup eliminated delays and minimized false recognition compared to previous systems.

Real-Time Integration with HRM System

Tipsoi’s devices were fully integrated with the HRM software, allowing centralized real-time reporting. Managers can now generate detailed attendance reports at the click of a button, track department-wise punctuality, and monitor employee shifts effortlessly.

Efficient Payroll Management

Contractual (casual) employees’ total working hours, overtime, and payroll are automatically calculated based on the attendance data. Permanent employees are also managed seamlessly, including leave, shift, and overtime tracking—all in one system.

Centralized Monitoring Across Factories

Each factory has individual admin access, while the head office maintains a centralized overview to identify mismatches or attendance anomalies. This allows management to ensure accuracy and streamline HR operations without manual intervention.

Seamless Implementation

ERP Integration for Seamless Payroll

Tipsoi’s HRM system was integrated with a ERP platform, allowing real-time attendance data to flow directly into payroll processing. Managers can now track daily, weekly, and monthly working hours, including overtime, ensuring accurate and timely compensation for all employees.

Centralized Factory Management

With factory-specific admin access, each site can manage its workforce independently, while the head office maintains a centralized monitoring system. This setup allows Omera to quickly identify discrepancies, monitor productivity, and ensure compliance across all factories.

Comprehensive Employee Management

The system supports two types of employees:

  1. Casual Employees (Part-Time): Attendance, total working hours, and payroll are tracked digitally.
  2. Permanent Employees (Management): Leave, shift, and overtime management are seamlessly handled through the HRM system.

Results & Impact

Tipsoi’s Fastface devices across Omera’s factories ensured accurate attendance, eliminating manual errors. Integrated with ERP, payroll and working hours are processed in real-time. Factory admins manage locally while the head office monitors centrally, with detailed dashboards for shifts, leave, and employee data—streamlining workforce management and boosting efficiency.
